Picture Perfect

Today Abby and I have been busy playing outside in the sprinklers, sandbox, bubbles...you name it..we did it! :) After changing Abby into dry cloths I sat her down with some lunch. (She insisted on sitting in the high chair; normally she sits in a booster at the table.) I then went to change into dry cloths myself. When I went back into the kitchen this is what I saw!! I had to snap a picture. It was too perfect. Now BOTH kids are asleep, I'm eating lunch, and enjoying the peace and quiet!

4th of July

We had so much fun this weekend. On the forth we went up to Brian's grandma's house in Brigham City. We ate some yummy food, played at the park, and Abby got the dirtiest I have EVER seen her! Then that night we came home and light fireworks off here (just the four of us.) It was nice to have some "just our family" time. Here are some pics from that:
Gosh, he is cute huh?!!

Abby and Daddy had fun with the sparklers!!

Just us 4. Don't mind the "g's" hangen' out of my shirt and Brian shorts! :)

Notice Abby in the following pics...

Abby was scared of the loud noises...she covered her ears on almost EVERY firework! :)

On the Fifth we went up to Heber and got to see my dad's new pool table! Here's a pic my dad took of Carson laying on it...he said since they share the same birthday, (my parent's bought the table on Carson's birthday) he's the only one that can get ON the table. :)

We shot a few games (man...I suck) and then went to the park for a Cummings family reunion! It was a lot of fun to see the fam. I wish I was more of a conversationalist, but I tend to stick to who I know. What can I say I really like my comfort zone! :) It was crazy to see all the kids and how big they are getting! But it was really fun! Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa! We should do that every year!

The Best Kids Ever

Although, I only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night (due not only to Carson, but Abby as well) my kids are the best in the world!!

Abby still LOVES being a big sister. She loves to hold him and give him kisses. She even gets a little jealous when other people hold him! Since his birth it seems Abby has become such a big girl (I mean both size AND maturity.) She has only had one jealous episode when I was holding Carson, and that was when she was EXTREMELY tired and exhausted! She is always so willing to help get me a diaper or the wipes, and she is getting good and giving him his binky!! :) She has also been such a trooper with potty training. It has been tough (on everyone) but she is really getting the hang of it!! Just a little more time and she'll be a pro!!

As for Carson, well....he is just a cutie! Even when I am exhausted and running on such little sleep he still makes me smile, and I'm more than happy to take care of the little guy's needs! I love to just sit and listen to his little noises while he sleeps. He has this one that sounds like a horse whinnying--it's really cute!

Now, having said all that....I'm SOOO grateful for NAPS!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to go have one of my own! :)

Another Tag

I got tagged from another friend and considering my the below tag and my answer to my 3 obsessions I thought this was a good one to do, so here it goes...

1- What is his name? Brian
2- Who eats more? Depends on what we’re eating
3- Who said I love you first? I think Brian did.
4- Who is taller? ...That's a tough one... Brian is by a long shot 6’7” compared with 5’9”
5- Who is smarter? Brian is by far! I really hope our kids get his brains.
6- Who is more sensitive? I am for sure. Sorry babe!!
7- Who does the laundry? We both do.
8- Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are looking at it from the foot of the bed, he does.
9- Who pays the bills? Both of us.
10- Who cooks more? I think it’s pretty equal
11- What meals do you eat together? Dinner. Brian is gone to work by breakfast.
12- Who is more stubborn? Me!!! Again…sorry babe!
13- Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Wrong?? Neither of us is EVER wrong…we just have different points of view! :)
14- Who has more sibling? Brian, by one.
15- Who wears the pants in the relationship? Brian.
16- What do you like to do together? Well I would love to say we do a lot but we don't. When we do, do things together we like to go for walks, and watch movies/tv. We just like being together. 17- Who eats more sweets? Me, by far…. I really need to kick that habit.
18-Guilty Pleasures? Cereal before bedtime (for me) and Coke (for Brian)... if that's what that means?
19- How did you meet? We met at his grandma’s birthday party at her house. My aunt, who is married to his (Brian’s) cousin, set the whole thing up.
20- Who asked who out first? I guess you can say Brian…although it took him long enough!!!
21- Who kissed who first? Well, it was mutual…I couldn’t really plant one on him since he’s so tall. But I did plot it out, and practice (not really the kiss) with my roommate at the time (SHOUT OUT TO ALISHA, THANKS GIRL!!)
22- Who proposed? Brian did. He planned a picnic for my birthday and we drove up to Tony’s Grove in Logan canyon. We ate hot dogs and sparkling grape soda (NOT and good combo.) He had bought a jewelry box when he was on his mission in the Philippians, knowing one day he would give it to his wife. I unwrapped it and opened it up and there was my ring!! It was really cute!! He asked if he had to get down on his knee….of course, I made him!!
23- His best features? I would have to say his eyes. They tell you everything that’s going on inside that mind of his (well ok, almost everything….Some things I’m not sure I wanna get into… ie. Quantum physics.) When we were dating I even had to buy a dress that was green because it was the color of Brian’s eyes! I still have the dress too!
24- What is his greatest quality? Brian is such a kind patient person. He would do anything for anyone no matter what. He doesn't judge. He is such a hardworking man. And he is always making me laugh. I love him so much!!

I tag Jessica, Tammie, Amelia, Kiki, Kira, Ashlee, Alisha, and Melinda !! Have fun girls!

Potty Training/Two Children Woes

After Wall-E on Friday Brian and I decided that this weekend was a great time to start potty training Abby. Things have gone fairly well...we've been able to keep the pantie usage to a min.
It was great to have Brian there to help when I became frustrated. He is so much more patient with her than I am.

Well, this morning Brian went back to work and things turned ugly!! Abby woke up at 6 (normally 7) and after a lousy night sleep with Carson I was in NO mood to be up for the day at 6am!! Reluctantly I got out of bed and got her some breakfast. Then it was time for Carson to eat again, so I put a cartoon on for Abby, nursed Carson, changed his bum, got him dressed and ready for the day then turned my attention to breakfast for me. I ate, felt much better, and then got Abby ready for another day of potty training (which consists of taking the pull-up off and putting panties on, changing from pj's to a shirt, and just combing through her tangled hair.) Within the first 10 mins Abby had wet her panties; so we went through our whole routine talking about why it's a "no, no," practicing while still in the wet panties, changing into new clean panties, washing our hands, and again talking about why it's important to keep our panties dry. After all of that (a good 15-20 min routine) about half an hour and she wet herself again. This happened 6 times before noon, and with reminders from me about every 15 mins!!

So my purpose in posting this sob story is to get some expert advice from those of you that have gone through potty training already. Am I doing something wrong? How long did it take to potty train your kids? I get so mad (I try not to show it, but I'm sure it comes across) and I feel like the poor little things spirit is getting crushed every time we have to practice after she's had an accident. PLEASE fellow mommies out there, help me!!

Count Down to WALL-E

For the last couple of months Brian has had Abby hooked on WALL-E (the new Pixar movie.) He has told her that when "baby brother" comes the two of them will go see it in the theater. They have been watching previews on the computer for months now! And even in the hospital Brian said they were in the elevator and Abby started to do quotes from some of the previews! Well, today we decided to make a count down chain to WALL-E. It only has 5 links (because it opens this Friday,) but Abby is VERY proud of it and can't wait for daddy to get home tonight so they can take a link off together! :)
